Vienna… I’m not even sure were to start. The vibe of this romantic destination city is one full of love, and art, and the beauty of a time long ago. There were flower shops aside almost every street corner, ready for someone to snatch up a colorful bunch on the way home to someone they love. There was amazing detail to the architecture at every turn. This bustling street market, Nashmarkt, full of fresh veggies, delicious prepared food from around the world, and almost any kind of strudel you could think of. ย As a lover of farmer’s markets, it just may have been my favorite spot in Vienna. There were a couple of times when I walked around a corner, I just had to gasp. ย Beauty. And I was there in the dead of winter. I can just imagine it in spring.ย
Then, there was the opera. Oh, the opera. Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the old Vienna State Opera house. That was incredible. The sheer beauty of the opera house with the amazingness of Mozart, and the fact that it was all in Vienna. That’s a memory I won’t soon forget.
Another must see is theย Hundertwasserโs Kunst Haus, a oddly crazy house with no straight lines and amazing variety of color. But, seriously… just have a little look… you’ll want to add it to your “we need to go there” list. Maybe even sneak it in for your honeymoon or anniversary.
