Last year I got to take pictures of this fabulous family. Who are from Texas. Who happen to live in Salt Lake now. And, naturally, texan-utah transplants tend to stick together. So that fabulous family, sent me this new fabulous family. And I got to take family photos for the May Family. Win. Win. I love the Texas drawls and kindness. The second I met this family I fell in love. These are kindred spirits. A family full of fun, bumps along the way, and the Joy that sustains them. And I got to spend the afternoon taking photos and chatting with them. I. love. my. job. To just add a little icy to the cake, they let me wonder through the not-so-manecured space outside of the park they choice near their home. Can I just say I love summer sun with weeds? The bright sparking sunshine with the tangled mess of something beautiful. Kinda like life I guess. Maybe that’s why I love them so. Sometimes tangled, but that light makes them shine and me smile :) Plus, their blues & greens contrasted them perfectly. Let me introduce you to the May Family.
Let’s be honest, Family photos are usually for the mom, right? And the rest of us smile and say we love you. And this family had one awesome mom. Worth a thousand “because we love you” photos.
In our off-park adventures, we even found this sweet truck bed. Perfectly suited for two sisters who shared a truck, and a brother who knows how to rock it.
Just because they are mostly-grown-up kiddos doesn’t mean we don’t get to have fun still. :) Love that when these guys get together they laugh. and laugh well.
Ok, seriously, how adorable are these guys?!
I kinda love how their personalities shine through. They sort of reminded me of me and my middle sister. I’m the one that leans on walls. She laughs so hard her eyes shut. At how funny her photographer is. (or maybe it was her dad’s silliness… we may just never know)
Love. :)
They all wore these fabulous angel necklaces in remembrance of their youngest sister. It was an extra special photo session for them, as it was the first one of all of them without the youngest. The necklaces were a sweet way to include her memory.
What better thing to do under an awesome gazebo than dance? Especially with the love of your life.
He is her rock. She is his love. And I love that you can still totally tell. :)
Thank you, May Family, for sharing your evening with me. I loved getting to know you and laughing together. Let’s do it again :)
