Some brides plan and design and re-plan and make a million phone calls and then get everything planned again so that their day is the best wedding day of their dreams. And I bet each of them would tell you it’s totally worth it. However, this bride did things just a bit differently. She knows and loves this one place with decorations that fill all those wildest wedding dreams. So rather then plan and plan and plan, she let Maui, Hawaii be her decorations. And man, did she make a beautiful choice.

The smell of gardenia & hibiscus. The sound of palm branches rustling in the wind mixed with rhythmic waves. Bright birds of paradise, rusted bikes, and the old buildings of historic Lahaina (quick nerd fact – it used to be the capital of Hawaii back in the day – back to be the cool photographer) surrounded by really really cool trees. Then, the sun hits just the right spot, and everything turns into a mystical paradise with a color palette only the craziest wedding planners dream up. Blues & Greens of every shade with pops of red, purple & pink.  The cream sand and black rocks contrasting to the tone of bride & groom. Let me set the stage for Lauren & Shad’s Maui wedding:

This gorgeous dress was the perfect destination wedding gown. The elegant lace and airy feel were just perfect.

Lauren, you are such a beautiful bride. Like smokin.

Lauren & Shad picked the secluded small beach known as Mekena Bay. It was perfect for their intimate ceremony. But before we get to that, I first have to show you this special moment. I absolutely love it when a bride & groom choose to see each other before the ceremony because then you get pictures like this:

Black lava rocks, a white dress, an approaching storm & beautiful laughter = perfection.

The ceremony was intimate and beautiful (especially with the thunderclouds quickly rolling in.) I love that they were able to just be surrounded by those very close to them.

Now that they’re married we were all off to grab some SUPER tasty sushi. The one on the right is called Poke, and it’s amazing. Like just saying that made my mouth water.

My view, and then Garett’s view. I love how much fun these two have together. :) And I love that they are full on running through the waves. Seriously the best destination couple ever.

Then we finished off this romantic paradise-filled day with a sah-weet Luau, complete with fire tossing.

Lauren & Shad, we had so much fun hanging out with you guys, and can’t wait for more, especially if it involves more swimming with sea turtles. :) Hugs!!
