There was this one day when I met this one girl who changed my life in ways I couldn’t have dreamt. I wasn’t the girl who always dreamed of being a mom. In fact, I often said it wasn’t on my bucket list. But, after earning my masters degree, starting my own business and traveling the world as a business woman, we decided to give the whole parenting adventure a try. ย People told us, “the days are long, but the years are short.” And “don’t worry, they won’t be little that long, it gets better.” So, I was prepared to “just get through” the baby stage, so we could enjoy the rest of it. But, it turns out, I kinda like this whole hanging out with the best baby out there gig.ย Turns out snuggling is high on my love it list. The only down side is how fast its going!! My sweet girl is already 4 months old (ok, pushing five, but lets slow down here.) And although I’m sure you’ve seen her if you follow my instagram feed, but I thought it was time to give her an official introduction. So, y’all, this is Jada Kenslee. Jada means “Jehovah knows” and Kenslee is after my dad, Ken. He is a godly man who loves us dearly and is a constant example to me ofย how Christ loves. Plus, he loves adventures and always took us on fun excursions through the redwoods, or exploring a cave, or to get “the best cinnamon rolls on earth.” He can take things that are everyday, and make them the greatest on earth. He is kind, venturesome, driven, wise, astute, among many other things. So we thought he was a pretty great namesake for our baby girl.
We are loving getting to know her. From the very first week she has been a sweetheart. Kind and patient in a way I wasn’t aware babies could be. Here’s her first week, in the only outfit that halfway fit her.
And then at one month, she started to fit those newborn clothes :) Still very sweet natured, but I love how expressive her eyebrows are :)
Two months… she started smiling and giggling :) BEST. EVER. not much can make my heart smile the way her smile does, then she laughs. and I die. My joyful girl.
Three months and the cutest white onesie you’ve ever seen. (ok, ok, I might be biased, butย still….)
Four months, and I swear her little personality just exploded. She is now all chatty, LOVES it when her dad enters the room (or better yet, those bearded kisses), thinks her cousin is the greatest thing since bearded kisses, has been reaching for things (really, grabbing onto stuff is super exciting), eats her fingers like they are a chocolate chip cookie, lights up when anyone talks to her, and has decided the hot air balloons in her room are ah-mazing. And, BIG deal for this pacifier hating, bottle rejecting kiddo, she has found a way to self soothe… by snuggling with (ok, its actually more like munching on) her sweet sock bird :) Win.
Ok, plus, these shoes?!?!?!?!!! Right?!!! You may just see them again because they are still wayย too big, but, so adorable, I just had to include them.
So, my friends, that is the little gal who has changed my life forever. And I kinda like this new life. :)

She is soooooooooooooooo adorable!! Love all the “head gear” she’s wearing! I’ve always felt like the circle of love isn’t complete until a child enters your world. Enjoy!!
Oh what precious pictures! She is a real cutie!!
So glad I got to meet her and her sweet mama. She is a sweetheart and parenting is wonderful – so is grandparenting. :-)
