San Diego is a spectacular destination for outdoor summer weddings. The oak trees, the sky… Hidden Oaks was the perfect venue for this DIY outdoor summer wedding. Start to finish. The sun glittering through the leaves of the majestic oak tree grove created a mood of wedding perfection. But what really made this wedding: Cheryl & Glen. Their love and care for each other blew that glittering oak away. These guys are for real. Like they love each other in a deep real way that is refreshing. The best man stated it best I think. They are that couple that in not too many years, people will come to them and ask for marriage advise. They have a love that is contagious and the kind of relationship that other people look at and say wow.
So, enough about how amazing of a couple that Cheryl & Glen are… let’s talk about what an amazing wedding they put on. I couldn’t get enough of those gorgeous oak trees glittering, especially since the glittering was caused by leaves rustling in the wind paired with golden light. The branches arched over making a canopy just for them (or so it seemed.) Seriously, incredible.
I love how calm Cheryl was while getting ready to marry one amazing groom. This is a bride that knows she’s marrying well.
DIY weddings have so many personal details, like an unexpected glimpse of yellow shoes under lace, the getting-ready spread her mom set out or the charms her sister wrapped around her bouquet. Personal details that makes the wedding memories oh-so-special for the bride and her groom.ย 
Yellow. Teal. Red. This wedding was chock full of summer colors. Having different flower girl and bridesmaid dresses is such an awesome wedding trend and these flower girl dresses are ADORABLE. Cheryl had each of her flower girls in a different wedding color which played perfectly with the bright outdoor summer theme of this wedding.
Isn’t she GORGEOUS!?! Those eyes. I bet that Glen can’t say anything but “yes, I love you” to those gorgeous eyes! ย And I also love this flower girl sneaking a peek of that gorgeous bride.ย 
One of the sweetest parts of capturing Cheryl getting ready was watching her working on her vows. Remember how for real they are? She captured that perfectly in the vows she personally wrote for him. In this gorgeous journal. :)
These are Cheryl’s nieces. Don’t they just make you grin? Three princesses in awe of their gorgeous Aunt/Bride/Princess. I love how much they adore her.ย

Glen is a Rock. Star. And he is killing it in that bow tie and grey suit. He’s about to see his bride. And she’s going to BLOW his mind. 
Cheryl looks so stunning. Incredible. like AH-mazing. And that look of love on her face for this man she gets to marry today… that is love. ย That is the look of a woman who knows what an incredible man she gets to marry. A bride who knows that this man loves her, and loves him just as much back.ย 
Glen hasn’t seen Cheryl yet, but he is already tearing up because he knows that standing behind him is the most amazing, God-sent girl. A girl that he knows is a few leagues ahead of him, but still loves him so deeply that they are going to get to spend the rest of their lives just loving others together. Together being the most awesome part. :)
Now he’s squinting, through his tears to see her. This man LOVES his bride. 
Glen and Cheryl went back and forth cracking up and crying through their whole first look. Glen kept saying “You’re so pretty. You’re SO pretty” then cracking up and crying and saying it all over again. It may have been one of the best first looks ever. Such real emotion on such an amazing wedding day. 
This shot was so stinking romantic. I love the way she’s looking at him and the way he’s looking at her. 
This is totally Glen & Cheryl, when a couple wears emotion on their face like this you can totally see how much they mean to each other. My favorite is how much they make each other laugh. Like hard laugh.ย
